I recently moved to the area and decided to try China King. My usual measure of a Chinese food place is Mu Shu Pork. I liked the fact that they gave round, better quality pancakes for the Mu Shu. (Some places give square pancakes. ) My son had General Tso ' s Chicken. Both were among the better Chinese take out in the area. The people were nice, prices were in line with other places, and the food was ready fast. We will be back.

This Chinese compares to New York Style Chinese Food. I have only had the General Tso Chicken with lo mein but it's been delicious every time. I have only gotten take out - always ready in 15 min or less. All and all if you know good Chinese you will appreciate this place!

Since I can't give half stars, I have rounded up to two stars to be nice, but really, this is somewhere around 1.5 star Chinese food. It's take-out only and for the most part it's average quality, but I am a lover of good egg rolls and theirs fall way short of the mark. There is almost NOTHING inside their egg rolls besides dough, dough, and more dough. Absolutely horrible. The rest of the food is between 2 and 3 stars depending on what you get. For take-out it's OK. Skip the egg rolls though!

This place was understated but the food was good. We were pleased with the service and thankfully there was no buffet. Chinerse food anywhere but in NY still scares me but it was not bad at all

Ordered the honey chicken, it was soggy. I've always had the sauce on the side, so I was disappointed with the sauce being mixed in already. We ordered delivery, and it came VERY quickly. My husband enjoyed his chicken and broccoli. Overall not bad.

I always like to start with something positive. I ordered the lunch special Szechuan beef. The vegetables were large and crisp. After that everything was downhill. For the lunch special, you get a choice of a can of soda or egg roll. Since I have only had one decent egg roll in my entire life, I chose the can of soda. After ringing up my order, the lady at the register forgot to give me the can of soda and she promptly disappeared. I had to ask for it when my food was ready. Ok, I've never had Chinese food in New York, but growing up in the Baltimore/D.C. area, I know good Chinese food. Unfortunately, this place is not it. The Szechuan sauce was actually spicy, but it had a glossy, gelatinous look to it - really bad sign. I scraped off as much "goo" as I could, but it was still kind of sweet, and after an hour or so I felt kind of sick. The food was very hot when served and the ingredients seemed fresh. I usually have such nausea after eating something too sweet. Unfortunately, this place does not seem to make a real, authentic Szechuan sauce, but probably something from jar or jug. I can't go back. After 10 years in Florida, I'm still looking for a Chinese place (preferably with table service) that is CLEAN and somewhat near authentic.

Food is tasty and fresh. Service was friendly and fast. I ordered Beef Lo Mein combo and fried dumplings. My order was ready in 10 minutes. I really like the bean sprouts in the fried rice. There was plenty of beef in my lo mein. The eggroll was not greasy. I feel that the portion you get is plenty. Food was still hot after my 15 minute drive home. I will definitely be a repeat customer!

The interior is small, but this is a good Chinese takeout restaurant nonetheless. I had the chicken and broccoli, and it was fantastic. I've been looking for a good Chinese restaurant since Marbo's closed a couple years ago, and this is certainly one of the contenders.

While vacationing here from Chicago, we TRIED to order food for delivery. Unfortunately, whomever answered the phone couldnt tell us IF delivery was available even after giving our address over five times. There was a lot of yelling in the background as well. In over five minutes time, we were no nearer to an answer about delivery. We took our business elsewhere.

I tried this China King as part of my never-ending quest for good Chinese food solely because they are one of the many take out joints in Tampa Bay that advertise their food as "New York Style." I lived in New York and I have no idea what "New York Style" chinese food is, but I do know I want the food I used to eat there. China King is one of the closest so far. Their Hunan chicken is spicy and flavorful, as is their Hot and Spicy Beef. Their Szechuan beef is not what I used to get up north, but I can get over it. Northerners craving a good takeout place would be happy with China King!

Vegetarians beware! I was a long time customer of China King but will never eat there again. I am a strict vegetarian and ordered a mixed vegetable with bean curd dish and found chicken in it. When I called, I was told they would not refund the money for the order, but would send a fresh order. When it was delivered, I was called a liar, told we deliberately put chicken in the dish although the dish we had ordered was hardly touched. I sent the original and replacement order back. I understand mistakes happen, but it is truly inexcusable when a business not only fails to hold to any standards but would rather insult its customers than make an order correct. Horrible service and food.

I have been working my way, rather unscientifically, through the list of Chinese restaurants in the Tyrone area. Finally made it here today. Oh man, what a treat! We thoroughly enjoyed the Beef with Broccoli, Chicken Fried Rice, and Sweet & Sour chicken. Oh yum. I can't wait to go back. It has been so hard to find good Chinese here (Tampa/St. Pete) and I so hope this will hold up! The store itself is ok. Clean but warm. I would not want to it in, although there are about 5 tables. Service was super fast - I had barely sat down to play with my phone after ordering when it was up. Obviously it was fresh! In fact, after driving it home I still burned my finger opening the beef n broccoli. I asked the lady at the counter "What is New York Style?" and she responded "Are you from New York?". I left it alone at that point. Go. Enjoy. Hope they don't move to Wesley Chapel (Like my prior favorite over in Tampa)

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
